Some kind of Dashboard update was rolled out yesterday. I don’t know, I wasn’t paying too much attention. I have noticed, however, we can now purchase clothes and props for our Avatars. Personally, I’ve never payed much attention to my Avatar (as cute as she is with her red locks and leopard print trousers), but there has been one feature I’ve always yearned for, feeling my Avatar has been somewhat incomplete without it. I’m so glad Microsoft have now taken it into account and appropriately addressed it. ‘It’ being giant cotton buds, of course. What did you think I was talking about?!
Screw the camera prop, screw the guitar prop. Nothing says more about me than an oversized Q-tip. Fact. Unfortunately I’m a bit tight for cash these days, with any pennies going towards my soon-to-launch business. Therefore I couldn’t quite stretch to the 160 Microsoft points asked of me. Damn! I guess my Avatar will just have to settle for dirty ears, though her sailor hat does a good job of covering them up.

I love Achievements, but I’m not what one would call an Achievement whore. It’s more so about completion percentage for me; getting 1000/1000 for each game, or as close as my patience/skill will let me (I’m also not the type to play King Kong or Avatar The Last Airbender to get there). However, I still like to chase those G’s in a bid to up my completion percentage, and in doing so I came across a cool site. It’s called True Achievements, with the tagline ‘Just How Good Are You?’.
Upon signing up to TA it aggregated all my GamerTag’s feeds; my gamerscore, my completion percentage, what Achievements I do and do not have, my friends list (well, the friends which are also signed up to TA, which is currently only one person), and other small nuggets of information.
My profile page looks as follows (click to see full page):

Since installing NXE 9 days ago, I’ve encountered a few abnormalities with my Xbox. Actually, one of them isn’t so much an abnormality as it has happened to me on countless occasions before, but it seems to be occurring that little bit more often since updating.
Firstly, my 360 has frozen on me twice since downloading NXE. Luckily both times have been while exploring the new Dashboard, fortunately avoiding me to lose a sickening amount of progress on Fallout 3. It tends to happen when I’m bringing up the Guide, for whatever reason.
Secondly, and this is a new one to me, I’m sometimes having to sign in to my profile twice. Odd! My Xbox isn’t set to automatically log me in as CandyStoreRock due to an unfortunate incident with Pro Evo earlier this year, which tarred my profile with an unwanted 0/1000 points. But when I select my profile, log onto Xbox Live, look at my Friends List to see who’s online, I’ll suddenly be signed out having to repeat the process.
I’d be naive not to expect hiccups here and there with the launch of NXE, so is anyone else having similar problems?

November 19th: It seemed everyone on Twitter had something to say about the impending New Xbox Experience, so much so that even I was itching to download the Dashboard update. Most people seemed to generally like the overhaul, but the buzz was all about the Avatars. I’d made my feelings on Avatars pretty clear, jumping to the conclusion I’d hate them, therefore NXE, months before it even hit. I’m not normally one to condemn something before I’ve even had a taster; it just seems wrong. But unfortunately my doubt has been somewhat founded, and that stems way beyond the Avatars.
