The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Currently Playing: LA NoireHmm. Uhh. Yeah. Skyrim. It’s massive. The quests are never-ending. My character has a mohawk. My class is Breton. Don’t follow me on Twitter if you want to hear zilch about this game. 300 alleged hours of gameplay? I’m being quite sensible, though, and still juggling life responsibly. Just.

Batman Arkham City

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

Currently Playing: LA NoireI’ve been waiting on the follow up to Arkham Asylum for a long time, and so far Arkham City isn’t a disappointment. The combat is just as addictive, as is soaring through the crime-infested city, solving riddles and, umm, admiring Catwoman. It’s become that game that makes me will 5pm to come along sooner every evening, and I haven’t had one of those for a while.

LA Noire

Wednesday, October 5th, 2011

Currently Playing: LA NoireI’m on the second disc of Rockstar’s 1940’s, action adventure game, LA Noire. It had a big buzz about it, and I was gutted that I took so long getting around to playing it. Now that I’m so far through it, though, I’m finding the missions a bit repetitive, but not to the extent I’m not enjoying it or won’t see it through to the end.

Fallout New Vegas

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

Currently Playing: Fallout New VegasI much prefer the crummy wasteland to the more polished New Vegas strip. So many locations to discover, so many enemies to slaughter, so many threats to your survival. Gah, I love me some Fallout New Vegas and anticipate this being a mammoth 100+ hours RPG.

Alan Wake

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

Currently Playing: Alan WakeI don’t have anything derogatory to say about Alan Wake. My advice to you? Spend a night in Bright Falls and soak up the eerie atmosphere. Alan Wake excels at thrilling you psychologically. Which is why it’s called a psychological thriller, I guess…

Splinter Cell: Conviction

Monday, April 19th, 2010

Currently Playing: Splinter Cell: ConvictionSam Fisher and I don’t go back too far. We first met on the Xbox 360 with Double Agent, but even I can see that Conviction is a different, less stealthy approach to the Splinter Cell series. Still, it’s bloody brilliant and very much worth the long wait we’ve endured.

Mass Effect 2

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Currently Playing: Mass Effect 2It took me ages to get around to playing the original Mass Effect, but as soon as I did it was a case of “Why didn’t I do this sooner?!”. I’ve been looking forward to the sequel ever since, and it’s not disappointing. What can I say? It’s good to have Shepard back in my life.

Dragon Age: Origins

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Currently Playing: Modern Warfare 2After playing Dragon Age: Origins, Bioware’s latest Role Playing Game, for just under a month, I’m only 30% odd complete. There’s sex, there’s violence, there’s a question of morals, there’s a meaty story. With real-time gory combat and big swords, it’s what every action RPG fan wants, right?

Modern Warfare 2

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

Currently Playing: Modern Warfare 2I don’t need to introduce this game. I don’t need to tell you what genre it is, who developed it, or the basic premise behind it. All I’ll say is it’s exceeded all my expectations, and I want to marry Captain “Soap” MacTavish when I grow up. He is rocking that mohawk!

Infinite Undiscovery

Monday, May 18th, 2009

Currently Playing: Infinite UndiscoveryInfinite Undiscovery is completely different to all other JRPGs I’ve played, solely for the fact it’s real time, not turn based. It’s been met with a lot of weak reviews, and as with any RPG, it’s difficult to comment having only put a handful of hours in. While nowhere near as strong as Lost Odyssey, I’m still enjoying my journey as the unassuming hero, Capell.
