And We Go Live. Again.

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Man, has this blog given me a headache lately. After flitting through numerous themes, all of which happened while the site was live, I took the advice from some readers who had commented about seting up a test server. I was admittedly a bit apprehensive about doing so but bit the bullet anyway.

I have no background in web design or developing so everything here has been my ‘first time’, but I do believe that the best way to learn is to get your hands dirty. So that’s exactly what I did. Hopefully I remain happy enough with this design for the fore-seeable future as there’s no way I want to go back to square one (which I did many times over). Sucks to be a perfectionist, huh?

Kudos to those that do this as a living though. I found it pretty tough and nothing seemed to go right. It eventually clicked though and things started falling into place resulting in the site going live today - quicker than I thought it would. However, I’m sitting here with a headache that was brought about due to a lack of understanding with PHP.

There are plenty more features I want to roll out which I will get round to doing. Right now though it’s Halloween and I still need to put together bags of sweets for the kids!
