The one thing that’s put me off getting BF1943 is there isn’t much in the way of getting new stuff as you rank up and it’s put me off buying as of yet. Maybe too much CoD4 has ruined me!

BF1943 is my game of the moment. I am just constantly entertained by the many different ways to approach a round! Sure, the ranking no offering additional benefits is a bit dull but like you said, it is an arcade game.
Right now, I have two favourite things to do: Fly planes and shoot them down from the ground. I managed to take down a plane with the rifleman’s rifle grenade before the bugger could bomb me, causing much whooping on my part
As for flying itself, I have got the hang of it but still need to get to grips with the dog fights.

Can’t fly the planes, huh? That’s the best part! You should just jump into the tutorial and practice for a while. It’s well worth it. It’s get to the point where you’ll be dive bombing a base and getting headshots of soldiers on foot, which is easily some of the most satisfying moments I’ve personally experienced.
I don’t have anything derogatory to say about Alan Wake. My advice to you? Spend a night in Bright Falls and soak up the eerie atmosphere. Alan Wake excels at thrilling you psychologically. Which is why it’s called a psychological thriller, I guess…
