Aside: NXE Hiccups

Since installing NXE 9 days ago, I’ve encountered a few abnormalities with my Xbox. Actually, one of them isn’t so much an abnormality as it has happened to me on countless occasions before, but it seems to be occurring that little bit more often since updating.

Firstly, my 360 has frozen on me twice since downloading NXE. Luckily both times have been while exploring the new Dashboard, fortunately avoiding me to lose a sickening amount of progress on Fallout 3. It tends to happen when I’m bringing up the Guide, for whatever reason.

Secondly, and this is a new one to me, I’m sometimes having to sign in to my profile twice. Odd! My Xbox isn’t set to automatically log me in as CandyStoreRock due to an unfortunate incident with Pro Evo earlier this year, which tarred my profile with an unwanted 0/1000 points. But when I select my profile, log onto Xbox Live, look at my Friends List to see who’s online, I’ll suddenly be signed out having to repeat the process.

I’d be naive not to expect hiccups here and there with the launch of NXE, so is anyone else having similar problems?

With the NXE you can now remove those annoying zero gamerscore games from your profile. If you bring up the guide and look at the game there, there’s an option to delete it from your history.

I thought you were able to delete games with a with zero gamerscore now, via the Games blade of the guide

Ben and Mark: Yeah, I’ve heard about that. But by the time NXE hit I had bought Pro Evo and now have one measly Achievement for it >_< So glad MS decided to make that possible, though.

Yeah I’ve had a couple of crashs from pressing the guide button and also having to sign into my profile twice all the time. 1st time from installing NXE I signed in once. Restarted the box and ever since had to sign in twice.

I think the NXE overall, is a big improvement for the Box.

Hi,

Enjoyed your blog. there’s not enough cute geeks who have a passion for something around! Keep up the good work.

I actually stumbled over you on twitter, put in Glasgow and xbox 360 and up you did pop.

We’ll a question - Just got a new HD TV… and I want GTA4(not sure this is in your obcession remit) but you seem like an Xbox360 fan- so the question is this:

PS3 or Xbox360 Elite… whats the state of video downloads on it in the UK? I know the GTA 4 360 version is better, but the Blu Ray on the PS3 is pulling me thatta way- anything thoughts? at my blog or twit me on davidsheddan
